Active Release Therapy
Active Release Therapy (ART) is a method of treating soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves) that involves movement of those tissues to facilitate their release. It is effective in treating headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, and tennis elbow, among other conditions.
When our chiropractors use ART, we apply tension directly on the affected tissues and then use patient movement to help lengthen the tissue or make it slide relative to adjacent tissues. The goal is improved range of motion and quality of movement.
