Visceral Manipulation
Visceral Manipulation is aimed at providing pain relief by treating problems with the movement of our organs relative to each other and the rest of our bodies. It evaluates and treats the structural relationships between organs and their attachments to the ligaments and fascia. Strains in the connective tissues of this system can result from surgical scars, adhesions, illness, posture, or injury. These strains can cause the body to have to compensate in its movements, resulting in functional or structural problems that can be far from the site of restriction.
Visceral manipulation is a very gentle technique that can have wide-ranging effects on the body. It works by encouraging your own natural mechanisms to improve movement at the connective tissue attachments of the organs and dissipate the negative effects of stress. It is especially helpful in those suffering from trauma, postural strain, and chronic stress or pain.
