Chiropractors are highly educated and skilled body workers. We are neuromusculoskeletal specialists which means we pride ourselves on being the best at assessing nerves, muscles and joints. As with medical doctors, chiropractors spend at least 8 years in school. The last four we dedicate to learning about the body- its joints, muscles, neurology and how the body moves. We believe in assessing the body as a whole and yes, it is much more than simply “cracking” the spine. We use a variety of techniques to help relax and lengthen muscles, and to release ligament and neural tensions.
We are highly trained in joint mobilization and adjustments. These are often very gentle and relieving. While chiropractic adjustments are very helpful for restoring function, it is not always necessary for each problem and our training allows us to assess when an adjustment is needed and when it is not. All treatments are run by patient preference. We never pressure patients into treatments that they are uncomfortable with.
